Gender and Child Rights

The Gender and Child Rights Program is committed to fostering recognition and protection of children’s rights, raising awareness and cognition of gender based violence, and empowering local structures in order to ensure survivors’ protection and timely response to cases. For that, the Program engages in local networks, provides capacity building to relevant stakeholders and women’s groups, offers training on Gender Based Violence, Child Protection and relevant laws, accompanies court cases, and involves in individual case management.

The Child Rights Clubs were developed and piloted under the Gender and Child Rights Program, revealing a great opportunity to engage the younger generation into human rights work, and hence being carried forward into the Peace Program and Kwale County.
